Meet Katie

I’m Katie, the photographer behind DaisyBell Photography

If you’ve ever wondered about the story behind the name DaisyBell Photography… this is it.

DaisyBell Photography exists because of two dogs I loved with my whole heart, Daisy and Bella.

In fact, I picked Daisy’s name before I’d even chosen her and somehow, when I finally met her, it suited her perfectly.

Bella, on the other hand… well, 18 and a half years ago I only went to look at her, but I couldn’t leave her behind because her little grumpy face was looking at me as if to say, “take me home, you’re my mummy.”

I had absolutely nothing ready for a dog. No bowls, no bed, no lead… nothing. I went straight to Tesco, bought everything she needed and then basically lived off beans on toast so I could afford to feed her.

Best decision I ever made.

Over the years, these two girls became my everything. They were my comfort, my constants, my grounding and my little bit of home no matter what life was doing around me. They were there through the building of this business, the late night editing sessions, the wedding mornings, the happy dances when bookings came in and all the chaos in between.

Recently, I created a branding shoot that ended up meaning far more to me than I ever expected. It was originally booked for the day after I lost Bella and had to be postponed, which now feels strangely fitting because the whole shoot was always meant to tell the story behind DaisyBell Photography anyway.

The daisies represented Daisy.

The feathers represented the little signs I always feel around me.

The scattered photographs represented the thousands of memories this job has given me.

And somehow, it all became a reminder of why I care so deeply about photography in the first place.

Because photographs become everything.

I married my husband and soulmate Jonny at Eaves Hall in June 2016, a venue that means so much to my family as my parents were also married there in 1976, exactly 40 years before us. So I truly understand how emotional and important a wedding day feels, and more importantly, what those photographs come to mean over time.

Based in Clitheroe, I photograph weddings across Lancashire, the North West and throughout the UK, capturing celebrations in elegant country houses, luxury venues and beautiful destinations further afield.

With over eight years of experience and more than 350 weddings photographed, my approach is calm, intuitive and relaxed. Couples often tell me they feel completely at ease around me, even if they usually hate having their photograph taken. I know when to guide gently, when to step back and when to quietly capture moments before anyone else even notices they are happening.

My style blends relaxed storytelling with an editorial edge. Warm, modern imagery full of feeling, movement and atmosphere while still remaining timeless. The big moments, the quiet moments and all the little in between details that end up meaning the most.

More than anything, I want you to feel completely present on your wedding day, knowing every emotion, detail and memory is being thoughtfully captured for you to relive forever 🖤
